Ok i am not sure exactly what happend, but about 10 o'clock at night (30 minutes ago) i just put on my new zr1 wheels and got them balanced and everything. (I love the Wheels) anyway i wanted to see how smooth they were and how balanced they were so i got on the highway and took her up to 70 all good, then to 90 all good, then to 100 all good, i was impressed how smooth it was so i figured why not hit the 120 mark, so went up to 120, and still smooth, got scary real quick so i slowed down and got off the highway and when i came to a stop my engine stumbled and died. Then i smelt oil burning. popped the hood and saw my oil dipstick blew off and oil was spewed out on the turbo etc, which is what i smelt, but there was some smoke coming out of the dipstick. I rolled it into the gas station and let it sit for a while while i tried to analyze what just happend. I started the motor up and it idled a little rough and oil pressure was about 40 I put it in gear and oil pressure dropped a little briefly then came up to about 60, engine temps were good probably 180ish, i let it idle for a while and it was not making any loud noise but exhaust was smoking white smoke. i tried driving and then it wanted to run rougher and kinda like it was misfiring a cylinder or something, the exhaust smoking quite a bit and i limped home about 3 miles, basically rolling, if i had to go up a hill it would run worse. got it home and the exhaust smelled funny and was still smoking. Turned it off and came inside to post it.

I am thinking it could be a blown head gasket or fouled plugs or really anything else for that matter.

What do you guys think it is, what do i need to do. any input here is greatly appreciated

Excessive blow by can blow out the dipstick and the pcv valves.

Sounds like you might have popped a head gasket or broke a ring.

I'd do a compression test and take a look at the plugs.
If you blew a head gasket it will probably push water out of the radiator or get water in the oil.

i checked the raditator the fluid level is good and i noticed no bubbles in it. I will check the oil and spark plugs tommorrow when i can see more stuff in the daylight.

If you don't fix the head gasket now before it's started/moved again, it could cost you a new motor (I speak from experience)

hate to hear it Ted.............. :(

good luck and hopefully it turns out to be an easy fix, or at least no excessive damage

Yeah hopefully nothing too extreme has happend yet to where i need to replace the whole motor. It is not going to be moving far at all. This is why i am still paying insurance on my blazer.

Well Jim came over and we took the spark plugs out and and they were all covered in oil and did a compression check and came up with nothing coming out of the #1 cylinder. So we concluded a broken #1 piston.

I am now accepting donations to help me get this thing back on the road. :D

Anyway it looks like a good time to make this thing go fast i just need to drop out of school and start working. :-? nah i think i am going to need to stay in school and plan a rebuild this summer.

Just kidding,
Really sorry to hear you are in this situation, it sucks!

It left a pretty bad mark and it is deep (the pic doesn't show the cylinder wall damage very well but you can see where the piston broke) i am not sure if it will bore out or not. i hope so.
