Making Seats Recline

Before I get started......I know about Bdubb's post (here) from March of '03, but my questions are a little different. So............

My seats are '93 4dr Jimmy leather seats that have neither the recline feature nor the ability to lean forward like the 2dr seats. So, if one were to convert these seats to recline with the actuator mechanisms from GM, would the seat lean forward as well as back? I'm mostly concerned with the passenger side, which is not electric (save for the electric lumbar). The driver-side is electric and I feel sure it would take a great deal of effort to convert it.

The GM #s are:

- Right side 12479966
- Left side 12479970

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please, type away.

TIA

I converted my Sy to reclining seats when I installed Tom Argue's leather seats. Used the recline mechanism from a 2 door '91 Jimmy seat, just dismantle the seat and put the hinged innards into the stock seat, then Tom did the new covers over them. It's so nice having recline, I just click the seat forward and can rake it back to the window. Much more comfortable seating position, I'm 6'1".
