Do you have to have a msd 6a ignition to run the msd8367 distributer? If you do why?

then you have some other part. MSD sells a drop in replacement dist for your truck. no special changes/ign boxes needed.

I just order one from Summit, but I call MSD tech line before ordering. They said - this one is direct OEM replacement http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MSD-8367
