New turbo

Just wanted to post a pic of my new turbo side by side with the old.
It's a little bigger. It is a Bullseye power 62mm billet with a polished compressor housing.
Alex from Steve Morris racing engines set it all up for me. He is great to work with.View attachment 7135

Re: New turbo

Looks nice!

Does it use stock DP ?
What are you using for boost control?

I would say it would. I sent my .85 exhaust housing. It is a T3. I used a Greddy profec spec2
with the old turbo and plan to use it with this one. I will be running lower boost. I was running 25 PSI now it looks like around 15 psi will get me the same power as before.

As far as more power. I am not looking to push this motor in it's current state to the limits.
So It is hard to say how much more power it will make until I make some changes in the motor. Like cam, partial fill, and such. The turbo would most likely get the truck into the tens
even with the little 415 cam but I am very happy with getting it back to the low 11's. FOR NOW.;)

Re: New turbo

Is this thing in the truck yet?
Or are you like me? I got a rebuilt sticker and rebuilt transmission just sitting in the barn next to my truck and no time to work on it. :(

11-12 hr work day. Blah!

Re: New turbo

I want to give a little update on this thread.
I headed down to wrenchfest in Pa.
While I was there Tom (sportmachines) along with Alex (Qbnkiller) work on the tune for my truck. I am very pleased with how things turned out. The truck pulls great! It starts great!(no more smoke). Alex and Tom are great at what they do and on top of that are great guys. I can't say if the truck is faster than before because it had been so darn long since I had been able to floor it. I can say however it sure feels fast. 0 to 60 is very quick.
Thanks again Alex and Tom. I would also like to thank everyone that was at Wrenchfest along with the host Matt. I will love to do it again. I enjoyed meeting all of you.

Nice. I hope to get to that wrenchfest someday if they ever have it again.

Code what?
So Alex was able to use the PTE exhaust housing with the bullseye compressor and center section. Looks like I need to give them a call a Steve Morris

Re: New turbo

Not surprising since bullseye turbos are Borg Warner, and PTE are copies of Garrett (used to be modified Garrett), and Garrett and Borg Warner are both Honeywell. Even Chinese turbos are Garrett copies.

Are they? I'll have to remember that next time someone asks if Bullseye turbos are Chinese. Seems like I've been seeing it a lot lately. Not here, of course.
