Re: Not Starting -Fuel

What is your compression in the cylinders? If you adjusted the valves wrong, it won't start. Ask me how I know.

Which Typhoon is this? IIRC, your black one had a damaged wire between the ecm and distributor. I have some time off this week if you want me to come by.

Re: Not Starting -Fuel

I plugged in a noid light and it doesn't do anything while cranking. and I jumped an injector to a 12v source and ground it opened up fine and released the fuel pressure in the rail. So now I just need to track down the short in the electrical system.

Re: Not Starting -Fuel

I forget which wire is which but one of the wires at the plug is hot with the key. Start there. IOW the ijs see voltage all the time, the ECM provides the ground which then fires the inj.

Re: Not Starting -Fuel

Jim came over and figured it out. Years ago I had some issues with the 4 pin connector at the distributor. I had forgot that when it was replaced new wires and a pigtail were run through the firewall near the brake booster instead of splicing into main harness on top of the block by the distributor.
Because I had a few extra wires from deleting the abs and that new 4 pin connector was in the abs vicinity I overlooked it and tucked it away with the rest of the abs wires, and i plugged in the original pigtail which was still in the OEM location.:banghead:

After plugging in the correct pigtail she fired right up

Code what?
Next time an easy way to rule out the ECM as the injector drivers are known to go bad. Have someone crank it while you smack the ECM with something lightly/mildly with such as a handle of a screwdriver. If it then fires up, you need a new ECM.

Another one that will eat your lunch are the pins from the distributer which connect to the ignition module. Several times replacing the module will allow the pins to loosen and cause poor contact thus not allowing any spark.

Glad you found it and how are you enjoying that Nolan tune?
