Plant City Car Show 12-16-06

I figured I would start a new thread since the info for this mini event is buried in the Tampa area thread.

A few of us plan to meet at the Plant City car show, right off I-4 in eastern Hillsborough county. This is usuall a pretty good sized show of hot rods and trucks. They close off a few city streets and there are street vendors and some local restauants stay open for the crowd.

So far the attedance list looks like this;

SBNova (me- Jim)
SY301
macg3cpu
pinellas50 "definite maybe"
and SY301's dad in a white Sy

I plan to get there around 4pm and I will try to save a few spots so we can all park together. If anyone else can make it, please come on down.

I'll probably be out there for a short while. I'll be with my wife and parents though (78 and 80 years old), so not sure yet if I'll be driving the Sy separately.

Rob dont you live really close? It would be great if you brought the Sy out.

I just hope the weather holds out. It looks overcast here in Lakeland right now.

Welp, we were all packed in the STI for the trip but didn't make it out of the driveway before I noticed the rear suspension acting funny. At first look it appears that the rear is completely bottomed out with everyone in the car - Maybe a blown strut. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the dealer this week.

I got there early, around 4-4:30 and hoped to secure a few spots in case everyone showed up that said they were coming. I was about to give up on everyone.

Then around 6 pm Jim (another Jim) and his wife showed up in their white Sy, and shortly after his son Jeremy showed up in his black Sy. We had a pretty good time talking about our trucks and checking them out. It ended up just being the three of us, but we sure attracted some attention all together. There were quite a few people who recongized our trucks, although there was one guy carrying his young son and said (to his son) "look at this nice Jimmy" when he was checking out my Ty.

Here are some pics I took of our trucks together. Maybe we can do this periodically, two or three times a year or so just to keep in touch.
