Poison Ivy?

You can try some juice from a green Lime on it. It will be over in 3 days. I would rub it on 4 times a day. Caution: It may burn like crazy, but works for me. That what my friend Manual said to do with the poison oak that I had. Normally I have to go to the doctor and get a shot because of the effects that stuff has on me.

Re: Poison Ivy?

i got bit a million times..

homecoming crew needs to fix that next time around. I don't care if the hotel doesn't mow, they need to.

the bugs alone were enough to keep me from going back .

annoying as f*ck...

something that should have been thought out and resolved ahead of time by the crew, but ya live and you learn.

Just in case my response from your last post in this thread wasn't clear, we all got what you were getting at. The grass and bugs bothered you. I and the rest of the committee get it. It was an issue that was beyond our control and has already been resolved. From everything that went on during the weekend, the fact that the grass wasn't meticulously maintained and manicured by the hotel and we as a committee didn't pick up their slack is what you need to focus on. I think there was far better things to spotlight from the HC weekend then what you seem to be fixated on.

I think this was real weird because I have very sensetive skin and didn't have any of this. I think I was out there just as much as most too. I wonder if this might have been an alergic reaction or something. I am guessing everyone is fine at this piont? Also I do believe no one had any problems at HC in 2008 and we were at the same locations and similar conditions. :dunno:

sorry, but something that bothers me even after i get home is a big deal, any event should plan ahead and deal with things like this, whether it was your fault or the hotels. The people that put the event on are ultimately responsible, there were plenty of things that stuck out about homecoming but the fact that i was itching my legs for a week after the event sort of stuck with me. i guess the best thing about it is that it won't happen again.

i wasn't at hc 2008, the one i was at was at another hotel and there were issues at that event as well.. specifically the road to the track.

negative things stick with people, ensuring that there are no negatives that effect everyone is part of planning an event.

and it's the homecoming committees fault that i got sunburn. They should have planned for that. They also should have paid the mexican restaurant to stay open longer so that we could have eaten dinner there friday night. how rude of them.

there is no way this is the committees fault or anything that they could have done about it. Are they supposed to come a few days ahead of time and test for bugs/ticks/chiggers/grasshoppers/field mice/locusts/moths/lightning bugs/crickets and take evasive maneuvering based on what's found....and spray for what they can on someone elses property? stop being such a whiner about it.

The only thing that they could have possibly done was getting the hotel to mow the grass since the hotel wanted us to park in it. You'd think the hotel would have done that on their own anyway. But mowing would not have made the bugs go away or been any less itchy.

I disagree.. mowing the grass would have resolved the problem in my mind..

there are things that are out of anyones control, I understand that but i don't agree that the grass was something that couldn't have been resolved.

I'll stop whining :D

Eric I appreciate the input, If people dont "whine" we dont know what to repair or change for the following event  all input good or bad is great so we can make things better for the following events

Re: Poison Ivy?

I suggest a smoking and cognac lounge for the next event

we could always go to the cigar shop right in town, the guy that worked there seemed nice.. although i don't know how late they stay open..

i'm sure there would be some interesting conversations over cigars and beer/cognac/whiskey/etc..

As long as there are units i can crush and cigars present i'm there

Like I said we will work to resolve issues if they are presented
