Possible Ty in Barrie...thats not mine!

So, a girl at work asks me if my Typhoon is at Scotland tire and auto today, to which I replied, Huh?? She tells me there's a "Typhoon" Black Typhoon there. 1/2 hour later another driver comes in and asks Why are you driving your Ty in the salt?, to which I reply "Huh?" A third driver comes back to the shop and said "Hey Derek!, there IS a black Typhoon at Scotland's, but its not quite the same as yours, so I asked the guy there to tell the owner to give you a shout!....That's cool right?" So need les to say I went for a little drive on my lunch to see a Black Typhoon Possibly at Scotland's. It had a Chevy grille, and a couple of piceses missing from the front bumper cover. I'm not sure if it's real, or just a Blazer with Ty cladding. I hope the owner looks me up on here!

I couldn't go up to it and have a close look, but it's a black/black with corvette rims on it.

I asked a driver from work to get a better look at this Ty. He told me it has a console shift, and the dash cluster looks different than a S10 that he used to drive!!!! I also asked him to get the last 4 of the VIN, but he couldn't remember them. He said he thinks it ended in a "55" or possibily a "955", but he wasnt sure! I hope this is a real Ty!

I saw that thing on Kijiji last year too, seems to me it was a re-bodied Typhoon or something, definitely not a legit one. But I think it did have Ty drive-train and everything. Wasn't for sale on there for very long.

Well, the owner will be able to get ahold of me if they wish. They have my truck # and syty.net. They also know where I work, if they want to contact me there.

I talked to the shop owner where this truck is. It turns out it did start out life as a Blazer. It is a complete '92 Ty conversion. The guy was telling me what a PITA is is to work on. I told him welcome to the elete SYTY club! He said he will send the owner my way next time they chat.

Yup! "Not missing one Typhoon piece!" ...Even the Chevy grille is bone stock GMC Typhoon.
