Ross or JE

Depends on some preference and what you want to do. The TRW's are great for about anything we want do do with our trucks. If looking to spend more money and building the monster motor Ross and J&E are both fine.

I personally used the SRP piston made by J&E in my build. They have a higher silicone content in them compared to the J&E all aluminum racing pistons. You can have a closer piston to wall clearence with the SRP's, thus not as much noise especially when cold from the all aluminum pistons.

Piston with wrist pin is 625 grams. That includes Swain's piston top gold coat and their coating on the skirts. Are you using a steel crank?

I'm using an LA Billet oddfire. Did you have to send the pistons out, or can the piston company handle the coatings? Same for the heads, will Brodix get the exaust runners coated or do I have to get it shipped to me, then ship it to swain, then they ship it back. Can't buy the heads yet, but the engine builder needs me to decide on pistons.

You will have to send them out. Depending whether you want to pay red label freight depends on how fast you will get them back. Swain can turn them 5-7 days once they are in their shop. The rest of the time is shipping.

Sounds like your doing a nice build. I stayed awayed from the odd-fire. Did an even-fire with a billet crank and bow tie block.

I hope you already know the CC's of the heads you plan on buying, otherwsie you might order the wrong pistons.
