resently on the way from the dmv i noticed the truck was smoking more than it should
when i got home i checked and sure enough the seals on turbo where out

pulled it off and had it checked and was not recommended to rebuild since they are prone to short bearing life it was a garret te62 good things i caught it in time

i have a precision 5758 that im in the process of installing as we speek
built the down pipe last night and getting it all mocked up like i needs

will i need a blow off valve with this turbo im installing the ATR wastegate the truck had currently also would 50# or 60# injectors be better suited

heres some infor

syclone 1770

headers
pitbull chip
stock injectors (dont understand that)
ATR wastegate
full 3" exhaust
manual boost controller (to use or not)
AEM wideband
Precision 5758 turbo

i know ill need injectors, a chip, and eric at turbotweak is pushing a datalogger or scanmaster i believe

now my list
built many vehicles for people and myself
farm and run a bodyshop
not new to fabrication
installed several lsx swaps
first turbo other than diesels
southern ill

any advice would be appreciated

Re: SI syclone pte help

I would talk to Eric at Turboweak and get his 60lb injectors and tune and be done with it.

That truck should have had an injector upgrade and 3bar map tune with the old turbo your lucky you didn't melt up a piston

Re: SI syclone pte help

yeah i sure hope so how do i know if the map is a 3bar by the way

Search feature turned up this thread:

Without checking the actual sensor assembly get in the truck with your keys and turn the ignition switch to "ON" but do not crank the engine. Look at the factory boost gauge. If the boost gauge is on Zero (middle of the gauge) you have the stock 2 bar sensor.

Ok. Just pulled map off. Looks to be 2 bar. Where do I get a three bar. Napa or any parts stokes have them if so what do I look it up under
