Might take you up on that Jim, I plan on heading to the track on Friday, got my ultimate back in today and am planning on playing with it and the SMC kit this afternoon. Maybe we can tweak it tomorrow before I head that way. Will have to see what the boss(girlfriend) says. :-?

I don't get off till at least 2:30.

And now I can't get my TurboLink to work, giving me the same problem the first week I got it, driving me nuts. I now have a Syclone with Water/Alky Injection and my Ultimate V7 back in and I can't drive it till I get my TurboLink to work. May end up not even going to the track, not going to beat on it if I can't datalog anything  :x

Finally got it to work after I did a restore on the ole laptop, still annoyng as hell. Anyway got to record some runs on the ultimate tonight. Unfortunately I haven't got it to where I can record runs while I am spraying the water/alky........should be up and running by the end of the weekend though.

I had some good runs tonight:

T1-17- erratic boost control but the o2 and knock were well under control. o2 stayed around 930 on WOT(for all runs) and knock stayed under 4*.

T2-17- tried this just for comparison for when after I start the spray. my knock went up but only when I was above 3400 rpm about to shift into 3rd, then it went off the charts, over 12.7. Did that twice and decided that is plenty for a comparison. :(

T1-20- once again, crazy boost contol. knock was still pretty good, one time had spike to 8.x* but mainly stayed below 5* even after I was already heatsoaked.

All of this was running on 92 octane, timing set at 0, and FP set to 50#'s. I am runnning the V7, and the drivablity is better than the stock chip, no doubt about it. Things look promising except for the boost control, not a big worry being as my PTE kit should be shipped tomorrow 8)

I FINALLY MIGHT BE ABLE TO OUTRUN TED :D :D :D ::brews::

Be careful with HEET and the SMC kit, actually if it were me I wouldn't run it at all, just stick with ethanol. I read a few threads about the SMC kit and nobody recommends methanol because the pumps are prone to failure. Nothing wrong with the kit, but methanol's hard on stuff. If your into meth like me, than you should build a kit with a shurflo pump, not saying it'll last forever, but I haven't heard of a failure yet.

I hope my aquamist pump is doing ok with 20 oz. of methanol mixed with a gallon of water  I should have thought about having it sit like it is...damnit.

We'll see.

Once you mix meth with 50% or more water you have a totally safe solution, even aquamist recommends it. Its straight meth that kills stuff. Personally you'll never find a drop of water in my system, water doesn't burn and doesn't make power. I know it may help resist knock, but in all my testing its always made less power. You can even crank on the timing and boost and still make less power.

Hey guys I started to install the SMC kit I have on the slelf in the garage on the Big Dawg. I was going to save it for the wives truck but the thought of 20psi on pump got the better of me. I will take Darons advise and install the cap as well wire a relay to feed power. thanks for the info guys

Considering both of our trucks you should have always been able to outrun me but no my box still prevails and will remain king until you get your new turbo. I'll be up for a fun challenge sy vs ty any day of the week, ::thumbsup:: so I will be waiting for you just let me know when your truck can safely go 10 miles without breaking down. :banghead:

BTW i changed out my torsion bar mounts this morning so it no longer sounds like a cavalary is under my car.

oh i forgot to ask is your boost control similar to mine? I am thinking about going for the minigate, or should i just upgrade the turbo, any thoughts on that?

yeah, my boost was all over the place. But I put my graniger valve back on and it goes right to 19-20 lbs and has less than a 1 1/2 varience. I'll post some times after I get back from the track.

so would you recommend that valve for my set up? I am trying to avoid the external wastegate. Good luck getting to the track and good luck at the track.
