Speedometer and Scanmaster G Accuracy

Guys,
I've got a problem with my speedometer reading being different from my Scanmaster G reading. The difference seems to increase proportional with speed ie: at 50-60 on the Scanmaster the speedometer reads + about 5 mph, at 65-70 it is + 7 mph or more and etc. The Scanmaster seems to be the one that is accurate based on traffic flow, but I haven't verified with GPS yet. It's my understanding that the DRAC converts the signal from the VSS to an analog signal for the ECM and the speedometer. Since the Scanmaster reads the ecm, shouldn't they read the same? Any ideas on what would cause the discrepancies or is this a common problem?

Running around my local area, I just use the speedometer. I tend to use the Scanmaster when I'm going any distance or getting on the interstate. I know it's really no big deal, but it would be nice to be able to use the Scanmaster to monitor other things while depending on my speedometer to keep me off the radar.
Thanks
