Syclone Typhoon Trademarks?

Has anyone ever contacted GM about being able to produce stuff with these logos legit? Or does anyone know what it would take to make legal SyTy logo merchandise? I'm guessing some outrageous licensing fee + a healthy portion of the sales. I've already been shut down by cafepress for having the typhoon logo and GMC visible on some of my images, even though they weren't tne exact replicas that mike s. made.

I'd really like to be able to use them without the fear of some rediculous lawsuit, over 10-12 year old vehicles. I know the chances of them "finding out" are slim, but knowing my luck, it would happen.

A year or two ago, someone was going to make SyTy clocks. I think it was clocks anyway. They got it all approved through GM and stuff for not-too-much. Then GM changed their minds and wanted thousands of dollars for licensing. I think the clocks were supposed to be like $40 or something too. Nothing like charging more in licensing than the whole run of products was going to sell for...

i have a connection to make syclone/typhoon bowling shirts. Syclone or Typhoon Logo screen printed on back, name/truck # embroidered on front.

with bowling shirts, you would be able to customize them to your trucks color. For example, my ty is white/grey, so i would get a white shirt with grey sleeves. syclone shirts would be black with red sleeves.

that, and anything else that pops into my head merchandise wise. anyone know who/where to contact to look into this further? I checked GM's website, but couldn't find an appropriate link.

well, i got a reply from GM. I got one phone number for a company that sells pontiac and gm logo merchandise, but i'm doubting it has stuff as old as sy/tys. the second number i got is from a management company that "handles requests such as yours." this weekend, i will attempt to call both numbers and see what i can find out.

i'll keep you guys updated.

if all else fails, i may end up making them anyway, if there's enough interest. but also, if there's enough interest, i'd feel better if it was legit.

sorry for the slowness on my part. got busy at work, fixing my truck, life, etc. I will make the phone calls this week and see about getting licensing rights so I can make the bowling shirts legit. Anyway, I will keep you updated.
