I was looking today at my ty and noticed the intake coolant sensor and the head coolant sensor are different. Does anyone know why this is? If they were swapped, would it make a difference in readings?
thanks

yup thats right. I don't think you can switch them, I think the plugs are different. anywho the one in the head is for the dash, that other is for the ecm. the head sensor has a larger OD.

yes john you are correct....the connectors are indeed different. The previous owner of my ty put a new wiring connector for the sensor on the head. Well, he put the wiring connector made for the intake sensor, so the sensor on the head was "slightly modded" to accept the new connector. That's why i was wonder if the readings would differ b/c i have a spare intake coolant sensor that i put on the head to get rid of the modded (messed up) sensor that's already there. The threads were the same size and it worked. So, I guess we'll see if the readings are normal or not next time i fire up the beast.
