Dumb question but whats the fastest anyone had the balls to take a syty up to. The LSR doesnt count. Got my interest in that going when I saw the new srt10 ram goes 150.

A stock ECM truck is governed to 126 mph,which is like 3500 rpms in 3rd gear.

Depending on the chip, the boost limter is 116 or 126. However, the boost limiter only reduces the boost from 14 to 9 psi, so their is a chance to go faster with a stock chip (especially with the 116mph limit). I have read that mostly stock truck with the boost limiter removed will do ~140mph. I would hate to do that with a stock SyTy suspensioon and brakes though....

With the boost limiter I have been around 130.

After I removed it I am pretty sure I have hit 135 to 140.

Was datalogging a Ty last summer at 139mph.

Never felt uncomfortable at 125 in my stock suspension Sy. I average a run up to 120 about once every two months though.

Damn, 175. I cant imagine that. Shit anything over 130 in a brick would be enough for me to need a change of pants. And the 1st gen s-series anti aerodynamics can be felt at 80. Id assume its much more stable though in a syty. Thanks guys.

I've been to 120 once. It doesn't really feel safe at that speed. Let alone I'd worry about the motor holding up to all that prolonged RPM.

I recorded a 140 run on DM last year and that was fast enough for me. It starts to feel really soft at that speed, not to mention any unevenness in the road throws it around pretty bad.

that 175+ run owned! I had so much fun and the ride was actually really smooth...and loud. The hood was shaking but that was it. Man I would do it again in a heartbeat. :lol: :D Thanks again Les/Ray!!

before i tore my truck apart i did one run up past the speedo (which indicates a max speed of 140). i would guess i was goin 145 or so.

I topped my truck out on highway 51 here in phoenix but didn't look at the speedo was to scared to take my eyes off the road cause I was in the carpool lane. Right around 125-126 and didn't feel too bad but could tell the awd and great aerodynamics really help out alot.

got the 6 powered s-gt up about 10mph past burring point, so I would imagine it was aroung 130, this was on a highway between CO Springs, & Nebraska . On another note, I got my S10 to 145, was next to a C5 vette, friend of mine. 145 was pretty much maxxed for my .411 gears

I have the complete diacom run of Dabneys truck at the open road race. We had a prototype 10 in 1 chip , stock turbo , cat , basic mods. I was the navigator for the run.

We ran in the 120 mile per hour class. We averaged 120 mph over the 119 mile race. At one point we hit 150 mph as indicated on the Diacom.


How was the 175 mph run verified ?
