Vacuum hoses?

Ok, i guess it was time my truck's vacuum hoses and fittings started cracking but when i was replacing the elbows mounted on that lil vacuum canister right on top of the turbo I notussed that the lower hose on the drivers side of the canister was missing, I looked all over to see if i could find the place where it belong with no succes, I already plugged it just in case but im worried it might be something important. Would any one help me here??? :-?

There should be 2 vac hoses on that canister (boost control solenoid). There is also an extra single nipple that is supposed to have a little block of foam on it (only thing left may be the little metal clip that was supposed to hold it).. thats a vent, dont plug it.

Yeah, no wonder i couldn't plug the damn thing. It makes sense now, lol. Thanks Ian, now i just need to find the one blocked with foam, whats it function?
