Vortec Clarification

I was reading some old posts about Vortecs & L35's and ran into this.

GM is incredibly tight-lipped about information and part numbers regarding marine parts. We tried to get my boss the part number for a set of marine Vortec small-block heads (much thicker casting, and they accomodate valves with enourmous stems for sustained high RPM) from the Performance division of GM ParTech (GM parts tech assistance)....you know what they said?

Now, the reason for my question. Some of you have heard of the set of Vortec heads I scored. Well, they are off of a 2002/3 Mercruiser. I know this post is referring to the SBC heads - but does anyone know if the same is true for the 4.3 marine heads? I don't have them in my possession yet - but could in a matter of a couple weeks or so.

I had a set of marine vortecs. They looked exactly like regular vortecs.
