So I have a set of vortec heads from a 92 Sgt. Do I have the right heads I 35 I think? What is the difference between all the different vortec heads? I am doing heads and cam this winter. Thanks in advance:)

Code what?
Do they have screw in rocker studs? At the top of each intake runner there will be a provision for the fuel injector. There are L35 heads with press in studs, I'd pass on these to avoid future problems with the studs pulling. A machine shop can also install screw in studs at the cost of more than the heads are worth. So better to find the screw in heads up front.

Re: Vortec heads

They were screw is rocker studs. So if I have these heads done I will just need a lower intake modification? Does anyone have any already modified to sell?

Re: Vortec heads

Casting numbers will tell you if they are L35 or Vortecs. An easy way to tell is the combustion chamber. If the bottom of the chamber is flat, its an L35. If they are round and heart shaped, they are Vortec. Also if the intake bolt holds are drilled perpendicular to the intake surface, they are L35. If the bolt holes are drilled on an angle, they are Vortecs. If the intake port has a small cresent at the top, they are L35.

Re: Vortec heads

They are L35 heads with screw in rocker studs. The upper intake bolts right up with no modification. Should I go through the trouble getting the new vortec heads and all the modifications go with it or use the L35?
