Anyone have an idea of what power the stock rods will hold ? 450hp 600tq?
Im leaning towards a custom cam and a 60-1 over the stock cam and turbo
I'm 99% sure they can take that power level if you tune it right. There's several folks probably running more than that on stock bottom ends. Think the magic number for staying in the safety for stock parts is 500hp.
Now, how much more than 500hp can they take? That's what I'd like to know as well. Because as it sits, I have two good sets of stock rods but I had it on my build list to buy eagle rods for the new motor. If the stock rods can take the same power as eagles I might just re-use one of these sets I have.
Don't know if I want to gamble that on the chance I'll throw a rod and do serious damage to the motor and/or the truck.
