Re: 100 foot drags

I believe that will be the shortest race in history. Racing anyone would almost like racing a 71 pinto! It is over before it even starts!

Re: 100 foot drags

My house is 100' long. It is a short race for a SyTy but alot of rubber burning for my Chevelle. It is really long when you have to vacuum the whole place. I have crossed the 60' timing marks with the rear wheels as the fronts were still in the air. Wonder if someone will set their car up like a super stocker and run wheels up for the 100' ?

Re: 100 foot drags

Actually, if its held at the drag strip and the rules are open to any type of syspension work and tire, then most awd cars and or trucks would get owned. I know alot of 11.0 cars that cut 1.5-1.4's 60' times with slicks, and a few 1.5's with DR's.. Look at the fastest trucks on the timeslip page, the avg is probably 1.45 for trucks that go 10 flat, or 9's. And thats getting it set up good.

I mean hell, most of our trucks only do 1.6 or 1.7's.

Now if its limited to street tires then yeah, we'll put a hurting on just about anything, even evo's and sti's. But I'll bet the other people will throw a fit and make you add time. Because of the "advantage" awd gives us. Just be prepared to hear the whining.

Re: 100 foot drags

There are plenty of cars out there that will rape a syty in a 100' drag, even on the street. AWD doesn't make us automatically win, lol.

Re: 100 foot drags

The guys over in Alberta have done a few of these 100' drags and they seem to clean up in most of them. As far as I know they werent penalized at all for their AWD 'advantage'.
