93 Ty 1064

I am starting a build on Ty #1064. I am planning on restoring every inch of this truck but staying under a budget of $3500 for everything but the drivetrain. At this point I haven't figured out what I am going to need or do to the engine so drivetrain will be the very last thing I do. I have a good doner for a lot of parts. I am going to do some mods that I really think will make it a better all around driver. I am planning on daily driving it when I am done so every bit of the truck has to be protected from rust and be easily cleaned. If anyone has any ideas or I'm doing something wrong or you know a better way please let me know.

This was my first step getting the body but not much left on it.

This is the way I bought it

Took the rearend out for the first step.

Worked on the leaf springs tonight. Took one side apart so I can epoxy the plates. I am doing one side at a time so I can make sure the I put them back together right. I will be putting epoxy on the leafs tomorrow.

Here is all my cladding I harvested off my donor

No lol. I am going to be pulling all the windows after Christmas. The winshield will be replaced due to being cracked.

I might take it off and put pony express on a bug shield in front of the hood

$3500 is pretty ambitious. With that said, good luck. Update this thread with lots of info and pics, I'd like to follow and see how it comes along

Excellent, will be watching your progress. I assume you are very resourceful given your budget target.

How much did the donor Ty $?

I have cleaned and painted the brakes that I am going to use they are off of 01 camaro.

I have already cut my front spindles and designed my brackets. Just waiting on them to be drawn on computer and have cut out of 3/8 inch steel. Once they are made I have to measure for the spacers to put the rotor in the middle of the caliper bracket.

I got all 4 calipers and the rear backing plates for $58

Bead blasted

Blackened and evaporust dipped

Painted flat black for protection

Every nut, bolt, and washer I touch will go through this treatment.
