Ok, so once I get datamaster and make sure im ok im going to us13 dragway very soon. With the awd do you avoid the water or get it a little wet or what. I dont have DR so it will be on street tires.

Re: burnout box?

No water unless your making enough power to do a proper awd burnout. You should do a small test lauch just to scuff the tires and remove any water on the tires.

Re: burnout box?

Chances are you won't need or able to do a burnout until your in the 11's.

Re: burnout box?

X2 Skip the box. Especially on street tires, there is no need. I drive around the box every time and have run as quick as 11.6. Currently running in the low 12's.

Re: burnout box?

I would say this is a "it depends" question.

As Harmon said, you can't drive around at all tracks. If you can't, get your rear wheels in the box, neutral +rev to get more brake vacuum (and hold the brakes), 2nd gear, then build as much boost as you can, and let 'er rip. Be careful not to bounce it off the rev limiter, and slowly back out of the throttle on the burn. You'll be rapidly approaching the starting line as you do this, so be ready to brake hard.

Also, even at the tracks that you can go around the water box, you have to look at your tires in the staging lanes. If they look like sprinkle donuts from all the crud they picked up on the way to the box, you need to either clean them up with a rag, or do the burnout to clean them up. Carry the dirt up there, and you get a crappy 60-ft and a pissed-off starter-guy at the track. (not to mention, all the guys that launch behind you)

Generally, for anybody slower than mid-12s, if you can get by without doing it, it's easier on parts.

I never go into the water just a quick clean of the tires, doing a awd burnout and then hooking will break parts fast.I have went 1.4 60fts

Re: burnout box?

Idk if it was on purpose but it looked like someone was sleepin at the gate.

wasn't sleeping, but when i staged i had about 1 sec to build boost, and wanted to impove my 60's with higher boost. so i was like **** it..
didn't work for me, but i sure past the other guy before the end mark and waved :D
