ethanol complete different than methanol

haven't really been to deep in sorting this out, but methanol is kinda hard to get over here, so i tried ethanol for a while and thought the difference wouldn't be much,,,,,
i'm spraying this with an alky razor kit..


Well.....no way.

at 16psi i got a knock around 1-5kr kicking in boost, and wasn't real steady on KR.

so i gave it a try and got some Methanol to try...

damn....0KR with same bin...not even a blink, so i threw in another 4psi of boost...and same thing...that was on 20 psi,

Ethanol is grain alcohol in some form, while methanol is wood alcohol. Ethanol goes in your gas tank while methanol goes in your washer fluid tank. A phrase I heard while I was in school:

"Ethanol gets you drunk, Methanol makes you blind"

Yes, Methanol is toxic if ingested.

the label wrote me i could drink about 0.5L and have a 50% to survive

but noway i would have geussed it would make that big of a difference using it for alky....serious.

How much methanol are you spraying, and what boost/timing/afr figures are you running?

I'll be installing Julio's kit this winter and I'm looking for these 'real world' a/b comparisons so I can get a feel for what to expect.

at the moment 20* advance. 20psi and around 10Afr. altough we are still working on the tune, but with meth you can bassicly spray as much as u wan't
