In my quest for 11's, I managed only 12.2's on all four passes at the track. The 12.205 mph was only 107.506!

The good news is I finally nailed a sub 1.7 short time of 1.695

This was done on Firestone SZ50EP 245 50 16's with 40 psi up front and 30 psi in the rear. Flex-a-forms and HAL QA1 shocks set to "autocross" stiffness.

those tires rule! if you get a good launch pad those tires just hook!

i pulled a 1.70 60' running the same air pressure you are, with a stock rear suspension and koni's... after reading that other people have good success with the same tire, it makes me leary about trying anything new.

nice runs but the mph seems a bit weak, when i ran 12.80 in my sy with a 1.70 60ft, the mph was 105-106mph, so that seems wierd, but every track is different and they only calculate your mph by estimating the last 100ft or so, by how long it takes you to go 100 ft at the end, why they just dont use a radar and have a real reading.

also, i have gone 13.0 in a stock 99ss 6 speed at 109mph, so the whole mph,et thing is weird sometimes.

On my stock turbo I ran 12.53@105

On my TE-44 my best is 12.20@110.

I gained 5 mph.

Times from the same track.

5 mph is a decent gain in mph and hp IMO.

Much of my problem now is trying to get the Boost Command Boost Controller to do what I want it to and that is keep the boost linear throughout the 1.4 mile run. I can't get the 3rd gear boost control to work independently from the primary boost control, no matter which position I have the dip switches in. Thinking of going to a feedback style boost controller.

Yeah, smokin. Sounds like the stiffer shock setting kept the nose down. Have you got rid of that ignition problem??

Yes and no.

The timing adjustment eliminated the "cut out" during the 1/4 mile pass, but during the cruise back into the pits the motor momentarily cuts out and the check engine light flashes for a split second.

race or get outta the way
only reason i can see for the mph to be that low is becuase you ran in OD instead of drive!

just a guess, but if i run in od i am only one tenth slower et and something like 5-10 mph slower.

Nope, ran in drive. The low mph was probably due to a lower boost setting since it was my first pass of the day and the killer 60 foot time.

stock converter?
I don't use a TC lockup on the new tranny.

Not yet or not at all? If the later, what's the reason?

Nice times btw! :)

Peace,

On the stock tranny, I just flipped it on from a dead stop and it worked great. On Brian's setup it bogs if I use that method. Brian said using a tc lock up switch on his tranny is unnecessary anyway.
