Im done with the track.

I rolled on down to PMi yesturday with my brother and I have to say that I was extremely disappointed, to the poi9nt that I feel like never want to roll a wheel on that POS again. I spent the whole previous night tuning for it. I started out at stock boost and added or removed timing and the same with fuel. I got it up to 18 psi with very little knock and the truck felt awsome. On Data master, I was turning out 13.4's @ 97. I finally started getting some decent MPH. My 60's were 1.7 and 1.8's. SO I get to the track which is 1000' lower than where I live and everything changes, a lot. I lost 2 psi in fuel pressure, not sure why, my KPa's were just waaay different. At 17 psi here my KPa was around 197-199. Down there 17 psi was 211. I also noticed right away that the truck would rev to 4800 RPM to where as here it never goes passed 4500. So I do my first pass and crank out a 14.8@72MPH with a 2.1 60' I was thoroughly embarrassed. I got on TP and made A LOT of changes according to my Data master runs. Surprisingly, Datamaster was almost dead on, it was +/- a tenth the whole time. Anyway, made some changes and knocked off 8 tenths. Ran a 14.0@95 with a 2.0 60'. Now, I was having trouble holding boost at the line and was having to launch at 5 psi when normally I can launch at 15+. I made a few more changes but ultimately I did myself in and ran slower. The battery in the laptop died so I couldn't change anything else. It just sucked. I drive 50 miles to get shit on. Sad thing was that the day started out @ 65* and I wasn't really able to take advantage of it. Oh well. I think Im done with tracks until they build one here which will more than likely never happen.

So, 14 second busa killa? Haha, just messin with you. A bad night at the track usually ruins my weekend. At least you know your Datamaster is accurate.

Thats the first thing I thoguht of, that everyone would think Im full of it. Thats really ok though. I know the real deal. BTW, when did I kill a Busa?

I wish I only had to drive 50 miles to the track :( Are you upset with the track, the distance or the way your truck ran? You must have other issues. I don't see how the tune could get sooo "off" with the reduced altitude and temps... :2cents: Some nights are like that.

I don't know, I thought I read about a bike kill a few months back. I was really just trying to give you a hard time, lol.

I didnt understand the changes either but they were VERY real. 72mph is a disgrace and I had 12-14*KR on that run from 50mph. It was daytime but fair weather. Either way, the truck felt like it was running on flat tires and wouldnt you know that right when I leave, it feels "normal" again. This happens almost everytime I have ever even been there. I just dont get why I waste the money? And Austin, Bandi is a lot farther than Pmi.

We're at 6000' in Colorado Springs (where all my tuning was done), and the track is at 5000'.

maybe a bad tank of gas??? just guessing :2cents:

I dont know but it was pathetic to say the least. When I did my first run I could feel that something was very wrong, when I got my first slip and saw 14.8 @ 72, I knew something was very wrong. If my battery didnt die Im certain I couldve gotten the truck tuned to where it needed to be.

BTW, Im not sure how this works, but I overheard a couple guys talking about the Barometer and they said it was at 7700 feet? I opened Datamaster and it said 25.3? Whatever the hell that means.

Sucks your truck wasn't running right man. I'm sure you'll get it figured out and get that 12 sec slip!

Re: Im done with the track.

They were talking about adjusted altitude. An altitude of 7700' is actually pretty good for Bandimere where 10k + isn't unheard of. You are talking about barometric pressure. And 12's don't require meth. It just helps a lot.

In fact here is a thread proving me right. And he has stock turbo and IC

Uuuh, theyre at about 1000ft I believe. For 12's up here, meth will be needed with my set up. If you still insist, then come figure out whats wrong with hte truck.

Call Cheatham, not me. I'm not an expert at tuning, but I know you have a 12 in that truck with the parts you have on there.
