whats best on the trann yis not to do it, but if u must then this is how
stop, but the tranny in netural. rev up the gas while pushing down the brake, u will feel the brake go down further. stop revving and when ideling again put the tranny in drive, not overdrive. still dont release the brake. then slowly bring the rpm's up and fully push the throttle down while still holding the brake. when enough boost is desired slam the gas and release the brake. dont do it too often with out a tranny fund, it will break eventuly. have fun

Mike congrats on finally getting your ride. Don't do to many boostd launches, until you get a good tranny cooler and deep pan, and gauge.

Tried that today.wow, it launches. Not to worried about my tranny as much as my propshaft. My tranny just had a custom rebuilt($3k) sure it will go someday. had the truck for 2 weeks and did my first boost launch. Not to bad
what is the difference in 0-60 times from this way of launching to just stomping on it? how much damage will i be doing if I just stomp on it or half stomp on it once in a while. I like to take off fast from a light. only give it half gas. I love to shoot out fast.

I have a little to add here. I have driven a couple other trucks that didnt quite respond this way but this has always worked in my truck. I noticed that when sitting at a light, holding boost is not the way to go. So, what I do is when the light on the other side turns yellow, I give it a good half throttle. It will will spool to maybe 5lbs. Then when it turns red, I smash it and right as my light turns green I am at full boost and I launch perfectly. So what I am saying is this, holding boost IMO is bad. Whenever I have held boost for more than a second or two, it doesnt launch like it does the other way. I have spent hours upon hours with this so give it a try.Also, When you have it in Neutral and are REVING, dont redv it high or alot. A couple of very small throttle cracks should be plenty. People really over do it if you ask me. Plus, you could be looking at loading up with fuel for your launch.

E-brakes have a tendancy to stick and not release on 14 year old trucks. Plus, having a foot pedal and a release on the bottom of the dash is pretty inconvienent. Also, being AWD the front tires will pull the truck since the e-brake is for the rear wheels only. I've never tried it and never will.:2cents:

I blew a hole in the front transfer case this past summer. Not to bad for racing the Sy for 3 years, sometimes twice a week. I feel that launching technique depends on the mods of the Sy/Ty. My Sy's sixty foot timeslips show that my Sy is slower if I leave on boost. No doubt the boosted launch is addicting.
