mine had a rub hole in it too that the tranny guy found when they took it out, and he just spliced it with some compression connections or something. i am converting to the 80e so i just took off both of my lines. if you want me to take a pic of them i would let you have them for shipping.

its not serviced "improvise from bulk tubing" Is yours complete and uncut? I can have it made in 304 stainless if you want or you can just send it to www.inlinetube.com

I made new ones after the stock one in the truck in the next size bigger line since the fullsize trucks use that size and my replacement radiator had a trans cooler with the larget fittings. My stock line has no rubs but I did slice it where it bends to run up to the motor. This made it much easier to disconnect there instead of the trans for removal. Might not be a bad idea to get new ones made with this in the design.

I did consider fixing it... I was just hoping I didn't have to.
I have a trans cooler plumbed into this line already, and it didn't really look right plumbed into the lower line like it was, kinda flopping in the breeze. I'll probably just cut it and double flare it right where the gouge is. After looking at it, It'll probably look more 'stock' this way, and will hide the cooler hoses a bit more.
It is my attempt to keep it as stock appearing as possible, where it's practical to do that.
The only real departure from this is the chrome valve covers, although some GM cars had them. (Just not this one) I may go back to the black ones, but it looks so flat-contrast that way.
The rest is done with as close of a color match as I can find. The frame will be touched up with a zinc phosphate coating and the spray-wax stuff that the factory used. The fenderwells need to be re-done too, but I've never found the right color... it's a semi-gloss black, but it had a greenish/brownish tinge... not the same as the body color or the usual Eastwood underhood black. I may just end up hitting it with POR-15, since I can't find the exact stuff.
Otherwise, the ABS is there and intact, the stock air intake is there and will continue to be, and it'll generally look like OEM, just a bit shinier in places.
