I am trying to put solid mounts on the driver side, and man its a b*tch.
Spent most of the today started at 7am, so far I only got the 2 bottom bolts from the fame pad.
How the hell you get the top frame pad bolt out?
Can't see or feel the nut on the bottom , the frigging thing keep spinning. I got a socket in there but can't get it on square, the axle in the way.

Re: Motor mount help

I unbolted both CV shafts from the front differential, removed the propshaft, then removed I think all but one front diff bolt and swung the differential down a couple inches to expose the bolts. Its much easier if you just remove the differential altogether. Either remove it, drop it down a couple inches, or leave it in place and 'make' some tools to help you out; bend a 15mm wrench up like a pretzel, etc. Its a pain in the ass job, we all know.

Re: Motor mount help

Thanks, I got the sob, didn't have to drop the diff.
You need a long boxend , reach over the diff from the passanger side.

Re: Motor mount help

yeah, you quickly find out during this job that all wrenches aren't the same. A 1/2" difference in length or a smidge difference in the angle of the boxed end can spell the difference between one wrench being perfect, and the other driving you to drink. I had the propshaft out and CV shafts unbolted anyway, so swinging the diff out of the way was a 10 min. operation, and it made the job a whole lot easier. Good to hear you got it.....

Re: Motor mount help

you only have to do the drivers side, cause that's the only one that gets hot. and leave the other one alone.
it it's a PITA job, but doing one is 50% of the effort.
