Cool air, no wind at the track Sat AM. First pass is often my best as it was this time. 11.573 This with a 1.764 60'. If I can ever get a better launch I'd break 11.50 which, of course, is roll bar territory. Won't go there but it would be fun to beak 11.50 anyway. 118.78 mph. This thing is a terror on the top end, 1.896 1000' to 1320.

91 octane with meth 20* advance -0- knock.

What tires do you run?

Re: New best

Good job, Don. I wish I had a track close to me so I could go more often, but I think I will be trying Test N Tune this Friday night.

Re: New best

Nice job, 60ft surely has room to tweak and will provide double the gain on top end.

Re: New best

Thanks. Then on Wed it starts bogging at the launch for no apparent reason... News at 11:00 as they used to say.

Re: New best

Don if your class allows it. 2 step, ca tracs and front limiters will help that 60ft. And of course tires.

Re: New best

Already run a 2-step. line locks (yes locks as in all 4 wheels) and traction bars. Some years back there was a bar made briefly called "Battle Bars," I have a set. So it's gonna have to be tires. I know that I've done high 1.6 60' in the past I just have to make the jump.

Thanks Rob. A lot of effort, testing (IE guessing :rotf:) and luck went into that. It seems I may have finally found a "sweet spot."

Re: New best

Nope. IMHO they are not necessary. By lifting the front end that much weight is transferred to the rear where you need it. I did install some longer upper a-arm bump stops once and it pretty much ruined what ride the truck had to start with so they came of quickly.

Re: New best

I have tried several options over the years and those combos seem to work best. The limiters seem to keep the truck straight and from not dancing around. Mine barley transfers at all. Both front end and rear end barley move or compress. I was able to get low 1.5s on stock motor with turbo and low 1.4s on the built combo.

Re: New best

My original truck was all stock suspension and tires. Probably made 250 runs at the track. Some days would do 20 runs. Finally got to the point I would 1/2 to 3/4 throttle to spool and build boost just foot braking it. As boost started to build I would let back off the throttle just slightly to let it build slower. As I left on the tree I wasn't that quick to get to WOT. It would 1.65 or lower fairly consistently.
On a few of my other trucks with larger turbos the ebrake on helps keep it all still. Takes a little coordination to be consistent with releasing the lever when watching the tree. You get into looser converters and it all seems to much easier and not much thought is required to leave the same everytime.
Great times Don. And that's a 60-1?

Re: New best

Yes a 60-1 Actually I'm assuming only because of measuring. There are no names or numbers on the compressor housing.
