Glad to be a part of the community. Not an owner yet, but will be on the look out. Also have a restored #s '68 Plymouth Roadrunner and a wickedly fun '87 GLHS.

Welcome!

Oh man, I have vivid memories of my old '85 Shelby Charger!
And you have the Holy Grail, what I always wanted: an '87 GLHS. Lucky dog!
Truth be told, I've been eyeballing the little 2.2 turbo cars lately on Craigslist locally.

Best of luck on your search!
I love my Sy.

When I was like 18/19 my dad worked at a Dodge dealership that had a whole row of turbo Omni's. I don't know if they had a GLHS,but that blue one for like 14k was my dream car at the time.I lost the lighter I took out of it a long time ago.

I didn't know what a glhs was till I read this tread. I just read the car and driver article with the 250 car. Pretty cool car!

Go for it!
The #'d cars have finally started to appreciate a bit, but are still relatively cheap compared to everything else.
An easy build will get you 300hp, which may not sound like a lot, but in a #2400 mid 80s tin can, is quite the experience and fun!

Congrats. Fellow Montclairian in the house!

Nice. Haven't seen a SyTy in the area so will definitely keep an eye out for yours!
My GLHS is in storage, but look for my light metallic green 68 RR. My friend calls it the "anti-Montclair" because an old muscle car is so out of place in this town!

Lol tell me about it, all these hipsters with their gas friendly cars. They look down at you if your not driving a Prius. I usually take the Syclone out to frescos a few times a month. do you ever go down on Bloomfield ave for the summer nights muscle car shows?

Not much into car shows, but do enjoy cruises.

That has to be great to see the Syclone lined up with the Lambos, Astons and Ferraris on Church St!

I own a coffee table book called Automotive Atrocities and the GLHS is in it.

Ouch! Definitely a niche car, but its still a real Shelby and fun as can be!

Oh man, I want a GLHS something terrible.
Should have bought back when I had numerous chances.

Now?
A decent one is positively ludicrous money.
Bad in that I won't own one until the market comes back to reality.
Good in that the prices take all the temptation out of even thinking about buying one! :rotf:
