Non working chip

I just finished installing a built motor and trans. I have received 2 chips from the builder and neither one of them works.
I am hoping someone has a chip or can do one for me since I have no experience with chip burning.

I have a 412 Cam, 1.6 roller rocks, ported and polished vortec heads and intake, 3 Bar Map and 50# injectors. Chip setup for 91 Octane fuel. Running a FACTORY Turbo with a 2800rpm stall convertor.

The motor will start for about 2 seconds and die. We already swapped the map sensor with another brand new one; it didn't help. Oddly, the motor will start and idle with the factory chip. Can anyone help with a chip or ???

Re: Non working chip

I don't want to start a slam thread on the builder. Maybe it's not his fault. Sometimes a burner can go bad. I just really want to get this truck running as it's sitting in a shop. ANYONE ANYONE?

Yeah its a builder on here (one of the 10 or so). But it really sucks having a ton of time and money in a project and then having delays. But I guess that's part of it.

Re: Non working chip

It seems to be fine with the stock chip. Fuel pressure looks perfect with the stocker. I am hoping this is a simple fix that can get fixed quickly.

Anytime you mod one of these motors you really need to invest in a laptop and DataMaster or TunerProRT.... you just have to be able to monitor what is happening on your truck. Sometimes something peculiar in your truck will make a chip that has historically worked fine, not work.. the only way to track it down is to start logging. Wish there was a simpler way, but I sure haven't found it! :D

Re: Non working chip

If you had an Ostrich and Code59, I could shoot you my tune that works pretty good on same basic setup. If you have invested this much money, I would suggest going this route.

make sure if your new chip looks like this:

You still have your stock chip plugged into the top in the correct direction. You will probably need to pull the blue cover off for it to fit inside the ecm.

If you've invested that much so far, invest about 7 minutes of your time to watch this and see what you think:

Even if you aren't tuning it yourself, you'll still need the same equipment (wb02, ostrich/burner, etc) to get it dialed in. Without that stuff its guesswork, frustration and taking risks on your new build.
