I have oil coming out the back of the tailpipe on the Ty. Its been happening for a while but seems to be getting worse. I dont see smoke, even on startup, but it leaves a nice heavy mist on the back glass and tailpipe every time I drive it. Compression tested today and it was 150 psi on every cylinder. Plugs do not look oily either. Im thinking turbo oil seal yet theres maybe 2k miles on a rebuilt stock trubo. Could valve seals cause this also?

Definitely oil and it looks like clean oil, not all black and burnt. I should have snapped a pic when it was out of the garage today in the sun. Its like someone put oil in a spray bottle and coated the back fairly evenly. Bottom of the truck is clean too, I thought maybe tranny or power steering fluid since I had a bad leak recently. Looks like Im pulling the turbo for a look.

Ok pulled the turbo today. Fully expected it to be all oily inside but it doesn't look like it to me. Heres some pictures. Tried to show the accumulation of oil on the back of the truck, its worst on the passenger side. I probably drove it less than 50 miles for it to look like it does. Keep in mind the dust settled on the oil after a few days. Have to use a degreaser to remove it.

Guess I needed to put it on jackstands to get a better look. :roll: Got a bit of trans fluid on the bottom of the pan. That crossmember is fairly greasy, you can see where I wiped my finger on it. Something has been dripping on my cat converter and burning, has to be trans fluid. Rear sway bar and passenger rear shock and leaf have a good coat of oil. So it looks like mystery solved. Something is leaking from the front and ending up on the back.
