Its alive!!!
Alright its time again,

I am good friends with the VP of the Taurus Car Club who rents out Gingerman race track in MI. This is awesome road coarse with a great group of people and its alot of fun. He allows me to invite some guys until all the slots are full for the event.

Basically its 1-3 actually tauruses, then 5-10 SHO's V6,V8 and blown V6 sho's,

The rest is ..
2 Vipers 1 roots supercharged , 1 new SRT10
Subaru turbo awd etc
saturn SCCA race car showed up
Acura ...
some infinity SUV looking Awd thing setup for auto x
my 94 (supercharged at the time) s10
mustang(s) 1 real cobra R
1994 Z28.. might have been 2 of them not sure on the second one..
Tons of other random cars

Anyways i would like to see some of you guys run if you could, I think it would be awesome to see some AWD turbo GM power out there..

I plan on having my truck running for it and will probably be running it on the track. We've been working on a 85 Corvette L98 car that used to be SCCA raced before a wiring fire and its up and running out on the roads now that should be fun out on the track QA1 shocks all the way around, Camber race supports, all kinda crazy stuff .. still like a 230-250hp car though lol.

Last year i had a built supercharged 4.3 with vortecs, 2114, meth injected.. etc etc with a 8.5 rear 3.42's posi, 12" rear disc on Hawk LTS pads, then C5 corvette calipers on LS1 12x1.25 rotors with Hawk HPS pads, all stainless lines yada yada, 1.33 front sway bar 1" rear sway bar, on Kumho supra 712 track tires.. I did pretty good :)

Hopefully this year my PT60, Forged Mccoy motor, megasquirt, MPFI 2114 with 65#'ers, LM1, 01 worked over vortecs with Comp pro mag full rollers, And a Hitech/Mccoy custom grind cam. TiAL waste gate and blow off, custom plenum and Ls6 throttle body.. yada yada....I am hoping to have it in truck fest weekend after next and should be running this week..

Anyways.. I would love to see you guys out there, its a GREAT crowd, ALOT of fun, Food, and just overall good non competitive time.

ITS ALL FOR FUN, NO TIMING, NO RACES ETC... Just you against the track kinda stuff

Its usually 100-140 dollars per vehicle or he's been allowing per vehicle on the track so if 2-3 guys wanted to show up with 1 or more truck as long as it was 1 vehicle on per session he would allow 1 track fee it that makes sense. Its all the track time you can handle.. be the end of the day people are just burnt out and tired and its anyone who wants to go is out there.

Let me know !!!! I will link you to the site when it becomes more official and the sign ups starts right now he is still finalizing the track date etc.

Also we run 1/4 at lapeer the following sat if you guys would like to meet up for that.

Thanks again ! Sorry for the long winded thread just throwing it all out for you guys to think about!!

Re: TRACK DAY ! Gingerman Road Coarse

Thats nuts your brakes gave out like that... I know people that competition race camaro's with that IDENTICAL setup only usually with a hps or green stuff pad and sometimes a drilled rotor but i've heard nothing but bad things about slotted and drilled rotors in the scca side. All the instructors said unless you pay like 1000 bucks for a set of rotors they are going to be weak. They had a willwood rotor explode on a SHO last year.

Its alot in driving style though, they instructors at the track said they watch guys come out with kayan turbo's and all that and just get the rotors glowing and ruin stuff from braking wrong. They told me to brake hard and short and right before turns, i started using the last marker on the track and coming in at almost 100 on all turns and i would enter the actual corner at 40-60mph and my C5 setup and z28 in the back the rims were cool to the touch off the track and actually the instructor came over said i wasen't even touching my brake power and touched the rotor like 5 min after i was on the track.. however i have a 1.25 wide rotor..

Taking some classes when i used to race formula karts and then these driving instructors at the track day really helped out though. They have 3 classes to run in the lowest one is actually pretty good you get to follow the instructor around to get the line right and then after a couple times of that you go at it.. (if your trucks ready .. if not you end up working like mad then just entering whatever class is up and end up running agaist a z28 and then a 03 viper next..)
