Turbo repair or replacement.

I just bought a 120k mile 92 typhoon. Ive put probably 100 or so miles on it while I'm repairing a few odds and ends that the truck needs. Today while I was driving on my way home from the parts house the truck made a terrible noise. All the way home the turbo sounded funny. I started investigating. Looks like a piece from the crossover tube let go and got into the compressor wheel. Both ends of my crossover tube were cracked. She looks chewed up pretty good and there is some shaft play. What are my options here? Should I rebuild this one and get a new compressor wheel or upgrade to something else? Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on repairing this unit if I can upgrade for not much more.

I can build your turbo into a 57mm replacement for about 675. total rebuild with warranty. plenty of ppl on here have it and it's been as low ass mid 11's so far. pm me if interested.

your type of damage is fairly common these days as the crossover ducting fails and sends it's pieces into the turbo.

Re: Turbo repair or replacement.

Looks like I'm going to go the upgraded rebuild route. Ill be unbolting it soon as I get a chance and sending it on its way. Anyone have a 3" downpipe that they're willing to part with? I also want to do away with the crossover pipe, to prevent this from happening again. Anyone have any suggestions? This seems like such a crowded area and I don't want to relocate the battery just yet.
