New Mustang Kill .... Shot by wife.

So my wife leaves for a over night work related seminar in the Turbo98 Jimmy. I just put the Corvette sawblades on it for her the day before she left.

She calls me on her way back home and told me this story.....

She was on a 4lane road on the way back, Pulles up to a light and next to her is a older guy driving a newer Mustang GT with a cowel hood and loud exhaust. She said he had that smart a$$ Mustang drivers look on his face.. (Yea you know the one)
Well she shrugged it off ... light was still red.. then he started rev'n it up... and she throught.. why would he be doing that...so she looked back and saw a older 70's corvette
in back of the Mustang... Ok... she thought... that kinda explains the rev'n..

So the light turns green... and she took off normal then she heard the Mustang lay into the throttle... so she's like... That's it Floors the Jimmy.. the fresh rubber on the 9.5" Sawblades hook with 11lbs of boost hitting them and she jet's around the Mustang as
the loud exhaust fade's as it's in back of the Jimmy now... 2nd gear... 3d gear.. she's still pulling away... She let's out at 75mph as they slow down to another up coming light.

Mustang slowly pulls back up to the light... the Smart A$$ look is all gone and replaced with a puzzled look of WTF is that thing... and better yet how did Soccer mom in the 4dr wonder wagon just hand me my butt!!!!
They leave the next light... he doesn't try that again and turns on the next road!
Now she has a smile from ear to ear.:tup:

Great story. There seems to be an endless population of guys who think loud = fast. (And it ain't just the Mustang guys)

You really need to find a "Have a Nice Day" bumper sticker just to complete the insult.

I can just hear this guy telling his buddies - "There's this red blazer that..."

Great story. There seems to be an endless population of guys who think loud = fast. (And it ain't just the Mustang guys).

When it comes to street cars, it seems like their is no statistical relationship between loud and fast.

I am very gratefull to have a wife that's addicted to boost.......

She's the one that wanted a T-Type/GN to begin with and got me started... and I never looked

back. I use to be a small block Nitrous guy... well.. after a few months of playing with the first

T-Type I sold all my small block stuff and latched on to Turbos for good. Then she got interesed

in getting a SUV right... well.. I suggested a Typhoon... Why not make it a fun one to drive!

And here we are today with everything we own having a turbo!

Thats almost as priceless as the corvette owner of a 01 c5 6 speed with exhaust and a filter. that i surprised on the highway till 135+ in my 91 eagle talon turbo tsi with a open downpipe with a cherry bomb on it.



The bad thing about that was the guy knows me a was joking about my car one day since it's my beater car. he knows i mess with turbos and asked how it runs and i was moddest and said it run pretty good for a import FWD. well we were leaving a friends house one evening and he was leading and he both have to travel down interstate 85 to go home. well he punches it getting on the one ramp and i try to keep up but the talon being FWD with 270whp kills the tires down low. so i go on and i getting it up to speed and cruise by him @ like 75-80 going home and the next thing i know he is gassing it beside me like he wants to race. so i proceeded to downshift to 3rd and hang it's tongue out and i pull him in third and the bottom of fourth till we hit some traffic and have to slow down we got to about 115mph and i thought it was over but i was wrong he came back for more. so once more we hit from 75 and down shift to 3rd and kill it well i didn't shift fast enough and run into the rev limiter and he pulled me to a half a car length i got into 4th and go back @ full boost of 16-17 psi and i pull back past him stay out front till 140 ish till we saw more traffic coming up quick.

needless to say he don't talk shit about the little red car with shitty exhaust

That's funny how some guy's think just buying a car with a name that's held by most as a "Fast" car

and paying big $ for it makes them think they can run away from everything on the street. When you

take a little turbo car with some cheap mods and run away from them... Toooooo funny!!!!

We are currently doing a 96 Talon AWD to RWD conversion. He went 11.0@127 awd last year.

We got my 325/50/15 drag radials under it. The axel is heading down to Mosier for narrowing today.

He only knows of a hand full of these that have been converted. So it'll be interesting!

My talon is the funest thing i own to drive to me since ithas straight line performance and it handles pretty decent. it's only drawback it's FWD so it spins the tires pretty hard anytime it's below 30 mph. The fact it's a 5 speed is what makes it a blast to drive since the GN and the SY and the Z71 is all auto's. I would be in big trouble if i had a AWD car

Sounds like my Maxima... I turbo'd that at 181,000 and it now has 245,000. It go's 13.40@108mph.

I learned real quick how challaging it was to drive a FWD car. Or how bad I suck at it. It's a 5spd

and have been through several clutches. Not many make good parts for Maximas. Lol.

Nothing like a kill with a FWD 4dr car with two kids waving good bye to the guy your passing!

My talon has 165k on it. motor is all stock including the balance shafts are still there. I just had the head reworked with stainless valves from a donar head and also a set of adj cam gears set at 3* advanced. It has a cheap spearco FMIC and big16g turbo with megasquirt EFI computer and a fuel pump. from what i can tell it has the stock clutch in it as it was lady owned since new.


It's funny you mentioned about how a decent powered FWD car drive nothing like torque steer . i let my buddy drive the talon after the head was reinstalled and he couldn't fathom how fast it really was till he drove it and he came back and was like damn you really have to drive that car. it's like being in a rodeo can ya handle it for 8 seconds. :tup:

i always hear about the talons and not the eclipse. same car, but for some reason i've always liked the talons over eclipse. guess because of the slight rareness of them?
