Erasing 27C128's with sunlight?

I've got a few of these kicking around, 8 or 9. I'm just wondering how much exposure to sunlight it will take until they are reset. Since sunlight is free, and it's July, I may try and wipe them for re-use.

Never tried it, but wavelengths in the deep ultraviolet are largely attenuated by the atmosphere. It may take awhile!

Willem sells UV erasers on Ebay for about $20. If you search for "USB burner" you'll get some of their listings. Their site store has the erasers.

If you like to experiment with stuff, you could erase them by facing them toward the arc on a welding bench. That will erase them fairly quick! And it meets your original goal of free!
