Yea the B&M Super Duty Race is exactly what I was looking into. Two questions:
Jay do you remember the length or part# of the one you ordered?
Any tweaking needed to fit it?

The cable came with the b&m hammer shifter i was useing for a little bit but went back to stock shifter and kept the cableit is a little long, but no sspecial tweaking, except for the adjustment for the cable. the cable i have is 5 ft but i would go smaller, i have tat one because it came with the shifter. i went this route because my propshaft let go and took out the stock cable and bent the stock shifter, so i went after market. but i didnt like it so i went and bought a new stock unit. hope this helps.

I bought the hurst shift cable and it is to long and doesn't fit right at the shifter. Biggest mistake so far! I am going to buy one from George as soon as I can. Proper shifting is a big plus. If you can't get a smooth shift and hit all the gears, its not worth it. The cable is from a corvette except ours are roughly 10 inches longer. My stock one just broke at the tranny. Then I kinked my Hurst shifter cable at NATS.

I hate to bring up an old thread but I'm actually gonna buy this now. So should I get the 4ft cable ( this )?

I have stock style ones made that are HD that bolt in. They are expensive to have done because they are custom but they have a little bit of adjustment and fit right in. Comes with new clips and everything.

Rob has some that he's made up as well. Different route but bolts in with some drilling. He goes by supersports10 on here.

Just trying to save you some trouble. If your not interested in either I understand. I just realized that I had responded here and you ignored me before. I didn't mean to butt in your thread. Take care.

...can a stock shifter be made to have a neutral lock?

Funny that you mention that. I'm working on that now. With the catastrophic consequences, I don't understand why GM didn't do something about this before.

Sorry, I didn't realize you took it as ignoring you. I just didn't have anything to say about it. This Typhoon is the one I am selling so I'm not interested in a more expensive cable. Thanks for the heads up though.

So for the B&M Super Duty Race Shifter Cables should I get 4ft?

Re: Has anyone tried one of these shifter cables?

We did the aftermarket universal shifter cable in hardman's ty. Took a tig welder, lathe, and mill to fit. After about 8 months he ripped it out, threw it away and put in the correct cable from George.

I am all about saving a buck here or there, but at some point the time to get a universal one to fit isn't worth the hassle of the savings.

I'd sell you my stock cable for half the cost of Georges HD version, and I will just upgrade. I was extremly happy with how his cable fit.

I already have experienced the shaft from Renz, might as well add to the list.

Plus how many guys on here have handled my downpipe?

GM has a safety recall on Shifter Cables.
I did mine in 9/05,only 10 years after the 3/36000 warranty ended.
There is no time limit for safety related recalls, call your local dealer and have them run a GM-VIS on your truck and see if the recall is closed.
SHIFT CONTROL CABLE BREAKAGE-RECALL#93037
If it's open, drop it off and let them pay for it...
