140 Thermostate...Does Anyone know where I can get them?

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get 140 thermostat?
Summit only offer 160 for $6.99 but I think where I am (Qatar) a cooler one will do much better. I just replaced the 195 with 180 and the engine is much cooler now (most of the time, it is below 100 deg C), so I guess this is one step forward.

No way man,your truck would NEVER go into closed loop if you had the coolant temp that low.
160 is as low as you should go.

Closed loop means it reads your coolant temp, O2 mV, etc. and provides fuel and timing per the tables built into the chip. Open loop means it just has a set amount of fuel and what not dumped in, regardless of the temp of the motor; it stays in open loop until it gets to temp and the O2 sensor heats up, then goes into closed loop.

Thanks for you all on the explanation and the sourcing. You are all great.
One thing I have to mention, is that Saudi Sy do not have an O2 Sensor operating. The place is there, and actually the O2 is there, but the wires to it are cut and I do not think the ECM reads any data from it at all in the programming made for the Saudi Sy.

Just my 1cent.

oh yeah...the NM8 deal. I believe Saudis, due to the fuel available there, run a program that does not read the O2 sensor. It fuels according to other stuff like coolant temp, manifold pressure, throttle position, intake air temp, etc. I guess the fuel there would burn out O2 sensors or something.
