I'm using the Volvo relay pack and wired it up as per your diagram posted April 2014 all works great except, I put a toggle switch by the dash to make the ground for either low or high so I can turn fan on while it heats up before the BMW thermo kicks in the problem is if I don't remember to turn toggle off the battery goes dead if I go to dinner or show, happened once. Question is how can I wire the toggle so it will do the same except turn off when I park???

you need ignition trigger somewhere in between all that wiring.... so when ignition is off everything shut off.

you can always put a relay on you ground toggle switch, flip on by the ignition.

Thanks for answering, I can do some electrics but always get confused on the relay part., can you show me a diagram of these? again I thank you I've got this in a 1950 chevy suburban that I finally got on the road. Stan

I used this thread to refresh my recollection of the Volvo 2-speed fan relay.

The control side of the relay is to ground.

You will need to "invert" the +12volt ignition signal to a Neg 12V ground signal that the Volvo relay uses.

Use a standard Bosch style cube relay.

#85 and #87 to Ground.
#86 to a switched 12V ignition source. Hot in RUN.
#30 to the manual fan switch. If you have a SPDT switch for both speeds, #30 will be to the center terminal on the manual switch.

When the ignition switch is in RUN, the relay closes terminals 87 and 30, completing the manual switch circuit to ground. When the ignition is off, the relay contacts open, removing the ground to the manual switch.

EDIT/ADD: Open the link. In the opening post, there are pictures of wiring in the relay I describe above. There is also a diagram of the "inverter" relay wiring.
