4.3 on boost?

So I’m not sure I even belong on this forum. I don’t own a Syclone or Typhoon. But what I do have is an 88 Chevy single cab long bed with a 4.3 I recently trashed. Since I’m building a motor anyways I figured why not up the power some. I’m going for around 300 horsepower. I notice the 4.3 in these trucks was factory rated at 280. Seems like a real fine place to start. So I grabbed a hot parts kit (crossover line and a set of repop exhaust manifolds for a Syclone/Typhoon) off eBay and am hunting turbo and whatnot as we speak. That being said y’all have been making power off these motors for a long time. Everybody local wants to either put a big block in it or LS swap it. I’m not interested in either option. Also the only turbos I have ever messed with are on Cummins dodge trucks. So I’m starting behind the proverbial 8 ball here. Anyone care to share what I need to reach my goal and have a 100% daily driveable combination?

Turbo, I suggest you look at the newer stuff pte6266 is a good one. You need a way to control spark, fuel boost(fitech or sniper). Compression 8.0-8.5 should give you a safe level at 15-18 psi with around 100 octane. You will end up well above 350hp. More boost more power but not safe unless you tune it on a dyno.

Oh yeah, fuel pump upgrade is a must. TBI fuel pump only does about 12 lbs. Wiring to pump needs beefing up. New fuel pressure set at 43psi. Front mount intercooler if you want one.

Boostane, Torco or Race Gas concentrate. 90 octane could work up to 12-14 psi. You could tune for e85 as well. I hear good thing about Boostane the most.
