4.3 Turbo Tracker?

I remember seeing a Geo/Chevy Tracker with a real nice 4.3 turbo swap a number of years ago. I believe it belonged to a Jack from Florida. Anyone know of this SUV or have any info? I can't find anything on it.

damn i hate people like that, why waste the time and money:roll: a turbo 4.3 would be more cool but still, its a tracker

The owner was Jack Wilburn. The motor was from Sy #1230, which DaveP currently owns out in Cali. I believe Jack sold it off years and years ago. I have pictures of it lost somewhere in my stack of SyTy picture CDs.

but it was a mean one at that....not sure if Jack ever got it running right, but im sure it would have whipped some ass on a few trucks on here if it did. :2cents:

Both you and Warren say the engine in Jack's Tracker was the Sy #1230 engine. But, I remember the engine had already been sold to Keith G (pretty sure this is correct. I know it was a "Keith" in Tampa) by the time I made the deal for the Sy in February, 2000. I know it wasn't in Jack's garage in Ft Meyers when I was there. Jack still had the exhaust, turbo, ECM, and some misc BS, but the long-block was not there.

What happened? Did Jack buy the engine back, or what? Or maybe I'm mistaken that the deal with Keith was completed, and Jack never sold it after all..... I never had any further contact with Jack after I left his house with the Sy in tow.

Hell, now you got me confused. You may be right. I always thought he had taken the crispy motor and put it into the tracker. Lemme go bother Keith now....

LMFAO. Keith doesnt remember, but yeah, he did buy a motor from Jack...and he thinks its from the crispy Sy.....so yeah, i think your right, me and the filthy canadian are wrong.

Hes gonna check the motor....

So now, I dont know where Jack got the motor for the Sykick.

Is Jack still around? I remember he was sorta interested in buying my sy a long time ago. Didn't realize he was in Ft. Meyers. I was just there a few months ago visiting my mom in Naples.

Thanks for the great advice guys but I'm convinced that I can get a low 11 second traker with pretty much bolt ons.
A kid at my night school has one of those vans and he always wants to race my tracker. I know better though. He told me he puts nitrogen in his tires so that it handles better and it's faster. That kind of scares me becuase it would probably make him do things he wouldn't normally do. I told him I would run him after I get a cold air intake and exhaust. I'll probably scare him when I do a 4-wheel drive burnout through 3 gears.

I'm not sure you understand. I plan to run a turbo and that will double my power. I also have plans to add a tornado for a 25% increase. That's just two power adders. My uncle said that we can also add a K&N charger for more power too. I don't understand what you have against Suzuki's. Have you been beaten by many of them or something? I don't bash your car. I'm looking for ideas, not put downs. I think the all wheel drive gives me a huge advantage off the line too (unless I smoke all 4 tires). Last night, I changed my oil to Royal Purple and I can already feel more power with just that. The guy at Autozone said that if I get those split-fire spark plugs, I'll get a lot more power too. I'm definatley becoming a pretty good tuner.
