Tranny shifts nice. Is fun to go, hmm that shifts early, make an adjustment and bam it works.
Had 2 major discoveries tonight.
2nd one is the ECM I had was flaky, sometimes work, sometimes not. Probably cost me 8 hours troubleshooting before finding that one.
Otherwise the shifts are nice clean, crisp, but not harsh. I can see some big things in this tranny to come.
Boost with new convertor is great also, Went to 17psi where would go to 5 before.
~200rpm slip or less driving down road with TCC off.
Feel much better now about this big project.

The downside to the 80e is cost. You might as well plan for a mild build to cost around $5k once you get all the misc stuff. A mild build should go in 10's though also.
If you shop around, you might get a good deal on 80e core, etc.
But for those tired of the 700 that matches the reliability of the trucks in general it is an option.
One thing though I am seeing line pressures about 25% of what the 700 has. Thinking that alone may offset the bigger trans, and what most would think would take more power to spin.
so then bring that $3k to AC this weekend :rotf:smaug said:if it could be done for $3k i'd buy one today..
luckily both my 700r4s are still working today..![]()
