4l80e rebuild kit

I have a 4l80e from a 2000-2004 chevy truck. I want to rebuild it. I need to support 1000+ horsepower. I need to know what is the best rebuild kit for it. I was thinking maybe transgo. It will be behind a 6.0l lsx engine. I was thinking maybe a transgo kit but I don't know. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'd contact Prime Gears (Transmission forum sponsor) if you haven't already. George Blake runs the place and you can PM him on here (His member name is George Blake) or you can call him...here is his number...513-435-1357

You could check his website but last time I looked it was under construction. But anyways, I'd imagine he can point you in the right direction.:tup:

Second shameless plug for George Blake at Prime Gears. He has the Trans Go kits, along with a few upgrades of his own, that will support 1000+ hp without any problems. He also has everything you'll need to adapt the 4L80e to a SyTy application.

Support your syty vendors so they can afford to continue R&D on these trucks.

George won't put an AOD in a GN either.;)

Bring this back up since Blake is no longer in business. Does anybody know of where I can get a good kit to w=support that much power atleast.

If you cant find a current vendor to do this for you, I have always had decent luck at local shops. You just have to "get in good"

Yeah, if they build performance or race trans, they can get most of the better stuff.

Hopefully, George will sell his designs to someone.

I'm gonna buy a 80e from www.rosslertrans.com. Carl Rossler is a very respected transmission builder on the LSX forum's. He makes all his own custom parts for all the different GM transmissions. He has a 4L60e in the 8's, and he built the transmission in his own personal car doing mid 6's. This is who Ed Hess got his th400 from. You could ask him what you need to handle 1000hp.

I will call rossler but I may just go with a rpm stage 5 trans. I will have to see if I can find a kit first.
