96# injectors

Anyone make a chip to run these and a 422 cam, vortec heads? The reason I ask is I can pick up some for cheap and with the new build Idont know if they would be too much.

Build is
30over stock block
j&e pistons
eagle rods
4 bolt mains
422 comp cam
ported vortec's
1.6 rockers
72 turbo

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I think at that level you might want to really think about a standalone fuel system, a la FAST/Accel/Big stuff/etc... You're going to need a really good chip to cover that kind of setup.

Re: 96# injectors

Only thing questionable is the porting on the Vortecs IMO......We have a similar truck (see Jeremys Fault Thread) with 50lb'ers and stock ECM....Runs decent, and I don't think the ECM will be the limiting factor in the end.

Re: 96# injectors

Would the 96# ones be to big? I can get them cheaper than the 75# ones. I have 50#ers in it now And dont think they will be quite enough.

If you go too big the part throttle, low rpm and idle areas will suffer. You will cut the pulse width down to nothing and maybe lower the pressure too, then the injectors will just dribble in those areas. If this is a race vehicle, then its not a big problem. If its a driver then you will probably want to reconsider.

no reason to use 96's I have them in my ty but that has fast and way more hp than your truck. go 75's and make you life easier.

Re: 96# injectors

96's would be hard to control at idle and low rpm high vacuum. With a aftermarket computer that runs bank to bank or squential they would work no problem. With the stock computer they would be a pain. Save your self the headache.
