Just had my A/C checked on my Ty and found out good news and bad news. Good news is that the compressor is owrking fine but there is leak on the system somewhere. They recommended that if I was to spend money on the air conditioner that I should do a conversion to the new freon. Anybody have any luck on the converson or what is the best thing to do. Please help, I live in Las Vegas and the weather is getting hotter everyday.
Thanks

Conversion works but not as well as R12.

R-12 is so pricey that I wouldn't even consider using it.

Do a search I think there is some info on it in past discussions

If you do the conversion dont go to 134a there is anew one to useit is HOT SHOT. Unlike 134a you dont have to change the oil in the system. You just use 80-85 % buy weight of r12 works alot better than 134a.

AC

AC

If U got alotta mileage, U might think about replacing your AC hoses while U R at it. Wish I had on my GN.

Especially if U stick w R-12. Switched to R-134 A on my GN and it definitely doesn't work as well, but as someone just said there R supposedly some new ones out there.

Also might want to check out Enviro-Safe propane/butane refrigerant - there's some controversy about having a flammable in the system but it works as well or better than R12. Google will get you the website.
