AC recharge

I was wondering what options I have to get my AC running again My a/c worked when I bought my truck. It stopped shortly before my rebuild. I think it was low on freon. I decided to drain it when I tore everything down. I would like to get it working again, Wisconsin doesn't allow R12. Has anyone switched to the newer freon? I have read that since the system wasn't built for the newer stuff it might give trouble.

134a conversion works fine.

I got mine converted to 134a and it worked fine till it leaked out again. Make sure you get ALL of the leaks. Get some of that UV die, a pair of yellow goggles, and a black-light and find which o-rings are bad. Then have the whole then evacuated and you can then recharge it with 134a and it'll be cold as ever.
