Aftermarket Coil

Has anyone had any success with aftermarket high performance coils? I saw the MSD and Accel in Summit and was wondering if they make any improvement. Thanks

most ppl are going to tell you to stay with the stocker. I use the mallory promaster but I have only noticed a decrease in cap and rotor life.

I would go with the MSD6AL because you can always get the BTM, the boost retard. From the dash you can easily adjust the boost to retard from 1-3 degrees per pound of boost with a maximum of 15 degrees. i would like that ability to use it from the dash.

MSD6AL is a CDI box, not a coil.

MSD CDI's haven't caused too many problems unless they fry, the coils seem to cause shorter cap & rotor lives.

I had an Accel coil that came with mine when I bought it, and then one day it almost stranded me! Replaced it with a MSD GM Blaster coil and have not had a problem since.
