does anybody make an external oil cooling system with a separate electric pump to circulate the oil? i was thinking of a sytem that would tap into the oil pan and could be operated by a switch or temp sensor. wouldnt a set-up like this allow the internal oil system to run at max efficency with no restrictions? whereas if the internal pump itself has to pump the oil up to the remote filter and through the oil cooler and back to the block, this restricts the oil flow. then you could just put a filter right on the block.
this would also allow maximum cooling even while at low engine speeds. for example, say you just did a sprint with your truck, your oil gets real hot, well if you had this separate cooler and pump, you could just be idling or even have your truck off and your oil will cool down quick. :-?
lower oil temps = longer engine life , right?
