BOO to the GA guys!

Nah, no worries...you guys know theres always more events between both of us.

However... I just took the Sy out for its maiden after the TC swap and gilbert shaft. Its cold out and holy sh!t I own a different truck now.

It was pullin like a raped ape and shifting crisip and firm through each gear, which its never done. Havent done any boost launches yet (save those for Miami) but from 5mph roll-ons and 25mph roll-ons, the truck runs like a champ and feels like it supposed to be with a PTE52. I finally cracked a smile while driving the Sy, which hasnt happened in a long time.

Time for the pre-Miami drive... im off to Orlando to drop off schtuff for the parents, and pick up half of Warren's junkyard in his garage.

Sweet man....glad my converter worked so well. Now pay me BISCH!

Yeah, I wish we could make it down, but we'll get together in Savannah or Orlando here soon. Now go kill some SRT10s, Cobras, etc.... for me Adam.

Adam, lemme know if that chip needs work with the better working trans setup. It was hard to tune with the old setup slipping like it did.

Actually, since you mentioned it...

While driving today to Orlando I noticed my RPMs werent normally where they usually sit while crusing.

I know for a fact, my truck hangs about 2800rpm at about 85mph. Today, when going a solid 80, RPMs were sitting at 2300-2400. They'd be about 2500-2550 or so at 85.

Everything today was about 200-300rpms lower than I normally know the truck to be. Truck ran great, idled normal, even throttle response was great and much less lag that the 3000 stall was. Stabbing it at 80mph felt great with tons of power and kick.

So what gives with the RPM? Would the converter really change it that much?

I havent played with the TV cable since the swap. Just put the TC in, filled with fluid and drove.

Oh, and good news Hood... no more playing around with getting to the ECM or having it hanging on the floor

So how many many people/trucks are acually coming to the meet? And what's on the wrenching menu? I'm still debating on trailering or driving the ty, it still runs like a$$.

The new cruise rpms seem correct. 2800 @ 85 is too high. Sounds like the old converter was just shot. Prolly never had lockup (if the converter was even an LU one), which would cause the disparity @ that speed.

ECM - Thanks GOD! Finally, I can put my feet on the floor board in your truck. :D

I had the suspicion that it wasnt a lockup TC. Im gonna see if I find a serial number on it and call up Hughes to confirm what I had. (Again, thanks RoadDisaster for screwing me again)

Rob wanted to try it out in his truck, but if its a nonlockup, I dont want him wasting time doing the swap.

Hey Gary... you taking GM part orders for anyone?

If so, I need a set of gaskets for the plastic vortec valve covers. Can I use the bolts that are with the plastics or do I need to get a new set?

If I can use the ones with them, I'll bring em to do the swap. Add my stockers to your new shed Gary :)

I haven't seen you guys since the Orlando meet at Race Rock...that's got to be 3 - 4 years ago! I'll make an appearance at Gary's in the FRC 'Vette, since Sy# 2648 is in pieces. Can't wait to catch up on what's going on...

I just knew my plans to go would be ruined, our floor guys are just now finishing and we will be moving in this weekend. If only they were finished last week or next week. I could sabotage them but my wife would know whats up, she's no dummy!
