Another question for manual boost control users

This may be of some importance... or maybe not. Dunno myself so I figured Id ask.

I am using a regulator to control boost manually and have noticed that the boost "overshoots" by about 1lb when it comes up. I plumbed the reg and WG with 1/8" OD teflon tubing thats used for controlling large HVAC systems. Im guessing the ID of this tubing is around 1/16".

So... In anyones opinion is this too small of tubing? I was thinking the smaller tubing would give me quicker response on the WG as there wouldnt be as much "air mass" to get moving in the smaller tubing. Im thinking now I went TOO small and its more of a restriction whick may be why the boost overshoots by a pound or so then settles back to my set point. Ive tried diff types/brands of regulators and they all act the same.

TIA

i never had that problem........

sup dubb.. Long time no speak. What size lines did ya use on your set up? Ive got some 1/8" ID teflon tubing laying around that I could try if you, or anyone else for that matter, think it would make any diff?

Whadya think?

I'd say it's worth some testing. I don't think ID would matter that much in this application, but I think what *will*matter is if you are using any tubing that would stretch/expand at higher boost levels, softening the signal.

Thanks BG. The "softening" of the signal is why I used the teflon tubing and used short silicone sections to make the connections between the tubing and the WG/regulator.

I'll replumb it and see what happens.

Cascading Inspiration
If your using a bleeder it is very posible that its too small.

Quick experimentation with the silicone hose, it takes surprisingly long for vacuum to bleed off through a small ID hose.

I would definatly try larger. 1/16 seems tiny
